Cancer and Sagittarius • Compatibility in Love, Sex, and More

The relationship between a Cancer and Sagittarius tends to be fragile or non-existent. These two don’t have a lot in common, and their differences don’t usually bring them together in an “opposites attract” way.

Sagittarius and Cancer often end up as acquaintances that never really form a connection. If they manage to become friends or lovers, though, they can sometimes manage to keep it together.

This is an odd couple. Cancer and Sagittarius can learn from one another and develop a relationship, but they both have to really want to do that.

Friendship

The Cancer-Sagittarius friendship isn’t often a strong one. These two have very different ideas of what it means to be a good friend.

Cancer bonds with people more easily than Sagittarius does. Sagittarius might be social and interact with many people, but they tend to form more superficial friendships than close ones.

When Cancer is friends with someone, they will gladly offer them support whenever they need it. Cancer will drop anything to help a friend when they reach out and ask for help.

Sagittarius isn’t that kind of friend. They might help out a close friend in an emergency, but they aren’t going to drop anything just because your partner broke up with you and you want some emotional support.

Cancer will likely feel hurt when their Sagittarius friend ignores them for days or weeks, especially if they reach out to them. Sagittarius will feel annoyed and just think that Cancer is being too clingy.

Cancer and Sagittarius often only end up as friends if they are in the same friend group. They will rarely develop a one-on-one connection and will typically only interact as friends when with a group.

Sagittarius and Cancer rarely have a lot in common. Even if they have some mutual interests, that usually isn’t enough to form a solid friendship.

Sagittarius loves their freedom, sometimes a bit too much. Some Sagittarius people are more flexible, but others refuse to give up any independence, even if it would make their relationship easier.

Sagittarius wants to be able to do whatever they want when they want to do it. They want to impulsively run off on a trip, with or without their partner.

A relationship with Sagittarius will be unsatisfying for Cancer because they won’t get the quality time with Sagittarius that they desire.

Cancer often prefers to stay at home or hang out with small groups, which is the opposite of what Sagittarius likes.

Even if Cancer adjusts to the preferences of their Sagittarius partner and starts going to parties with them or traveling with them all the time, that still doesn’t mean they will get the quality time and affection they desire.

Sagittarius won’t want to take their Cancer partner with them everywhere. They also might go to a party with them, but that doesn’t mean they’ll spend time with them there.

The Sagittarius-Cancer relationship can only function if Sagittarius focuses more on the relationship and on spending time with their Cancer partner.

Sagittarius might love Cancer with their whole heart. Still, Cancer won’t feel any of that love if Sagittarius is always running around, ignoring their messages, and refusing to spend time with them at home.

Getting Sagittarius to settle down can be a tall order. If they want to make their relationship with Cancer work, they will have to give up some freedom and learn how to relax with their Cancer partner, even if they think it’s boring.

Marriage

If Sagittarius and Cancer can barely make a relationship work, it’s unlikely these two will ever even start discussing marriage.

A relationship with Cancer isn’t always enough for a Sagittarius. Sagittarius can learn and grow when with Cancer, but they have to genuinely want to, and that isn’t always the case.

Cancer will want to get married, and it will become a point of contention if Sagittarius doesn’t.

Cancer might feel unloved if Sagittarius refuses to marry them, even if Sagittarius insists that they do love Cancer. Cancer will also feel insecure in the relationship without the commitment of marriage.

This doesn’t mean that marriage is impossible for these two. Sagittarius can get over their apprehension when it comes to marriage. That doesn’t mean the marriage between Cancer and Sagittarius will be easy, though.

Trust is often a massive issue between Sagittarius and Cancer, and this can ultimately end their marriage, even if they want to make things work.

Cancer generally tries to trust people, but Sagittarius makes it hard sometimes. Sagittarius is the type of person who will flirt with others for fun, even when married, and enjoys spending time with lots of people who aren’t their partners.

If Cancer ever feels like Sagittarius is being unfaithful, they will have a hard time trusting them and feeling happy in their relationship.

Sagittarius will likely feel annoyed when their Cancer spouse doesn’t trust them. They may think that Cancer is clingy or even controlling, even if Cancer is just trying to tell Sagittarius how they feel.

To make a marriage work, both Sagittarius and Cancer need to adjust their expectations. That might work temporarily, but it won’t always work long-term for these two.

In Bed

Cancer’s compatibility with Sagittarius in the bedroom is often low because these two have very different sexual preferences.

Sagittarius loves sex. They can easily have sex without love and won’t feel like they are missing out on anything if they don’t feel an emotional connection with their sexual partners.

Cancer needs an emotional connection to have a good time during sex. Cancer rarely has one-night stands or casual sexual relationships because they want to feel a bond with their partners.

A Sagittarius man and a Cancer woman’s compatibility isn’t the best in the bedroom because Sagittarius isn’t always good at making Cancer feel loved and cared for.

If these two are in a romantic relationship, Cancer will become deeply unsatisfied with her Sagittarius man if he can’t figure out how to emotionally connect with her during sex.
